Journey of the Future

NS Dutch Rail

During my internship at Springtime, I had the opportunity to help the team on developing and defining the mobility Hubs for the Dutch Rail (Journey of the future project) from ideation to final visualization. Due to the sharply increasing demand for mobility, we face a number of serious challenges together. With the ‘Journey of the Future’, we show how the journey from door to door can look like from the perspective of travelers. Digitization and new forms of mobility are going to change this journey. Springtime worked with NS (Dutch Rail), architect firm Mecanoo, ProRail en Bureau Spoorbouwmeester to visualize that future. Springtime’s extensive expertise on urban mobility and micromobility has resulted in a strategy for how to implement various modalities into the station and station environment. By researching and characterizing various station typologies and personas, we created typical journeys and the solutions need for each. Results have been presented during the Dutch Design Week.
